Questions and Answers

Below you will find answers to many common questions about Giving Tuesday.

Why should I participate?

Here at NKU, we’re celebrating Giving Tuesday the Norse Way.  We want to make this day all about highlighting the reasons why NKU is an institution worthy of support- and we hope our fellow Norse all across the country will join in by sharing making a gift and sharing their own unique message.  Your support helps our students access higher education, complete their educational goals no matter the challenges and engage with their communities.  It only takes a few minutes to make a difference!

I am a faculty or staff member, but don't see my department listed in the group affiliation.

Is my gift tax-deductible?

Yes. All philanthropic contributions to NKU are tax-deductible as allowed by law.

Will I receive a receipt for my contribution?

Yes. We will send you a receipt for your contribution shortly after you make your gift.

Do I have to make a donation to participate?

While we hope you make a donation to support your favorite department or program on campus, it is not required for participation.  To take part in the celebration in another way, share your I LOVE NKU selfie on your social media accounts and use #NKUGivingTuesday in the post.

Do I need to change my privacy settings?

In order for your post to show up on our social media feed on the NKU Giving Tuesday page, you will need to mark your profile settings “public” on all platforms.

What if I don’t have a Twitter/Facebook/LinkedIn, etc.?

Not a Twitter user?  No problem!  We want you to use all your social media accounts to share our message, but we do not expect you to create a brand new account solely for this purpose.  Share on the platforms where you are most active and comfortable.
