What is NKU Founders' Day?
Fifty-six years ago, local visionaries dreamed of bringing affordable, public higher education to the Northern Kentucky region. On March 13 and 14, we celebrate and honor that past by investing in our future. NKU Founders' Day is a 1,968-minute giving challenge issued to alumni, faculty, staff, students, parents and community members to make a gift to their favorite place or cause on campus. All funds raised directly benefit students and make their experience more affordable and meaningful. The day will also feature fun challenges and giveaways so that you can make the most of your gift.
What if I want to give via Venmo, PayPal or Apple Pay?
We now accept Venmo, PayPal and Apple Pay! Please visit our alternative giving page to give through these platforms. You may see a short delay in your gift being added to our donor wall.
Can I receive multiple T-shirts?
Individual donors will be recognized with one T-shirt for their gift of $68 or more toward NKU Founders' Day. For questions about T-shirts, please reach out to annualgiving@nku.edu or (859) 572-5486.
What if I want to give to a campus area or cause that is not listed?
If you do not see your specific campus area or cause in the drop-down menu, please select "Other." You will then be prompted to type in the designation of which you wish to donate. If you have questions about your gift, please reach out to annualgiving@nku.edu or (859) 572-5486.
I want to give to a specific area, but I don't know what to write in "Other."
If you are unsure of the name of the scholarship or program you wish to support, please contact annualgiving@nku.edu or (859) 572-5486.
I am struggling to make a gift. What do I do?
If you are having issues making a gift, first clear your cache on your web browser or try making the gift on your phone. If you continue to have issues, you may make a gift through our alternative page or call 859-572-5486.
Who should I contact with questions about my contribution?

Is my gift tax-deductible?
Yes. All philanthropic contributions to NKU are tax-deductible as allowed by law. Please consult your tax professional with any questions if you elected to receive any giveaway items related to your contribution.
Will I receive a receipt for my contribution?
Yes. We will send you a receipt for your contribution shortly after you make your gift.
If you receive one of the giveaways during the day, you will receive a form to complete indicating the value of the prize for tax purposes.
Is my payment secure?
Yes. Our website is secure and we do not store credit card information. Please do not include credit card information in any email.
Can I send a gift by mail or phone?
Yes. However, due to the time limitations of NKU Founders' Day, only gifts made online or by phone will count toward overall totals and completions. You can make your gift on March 13 and 14 by calling (850) 572-6062.
Is there a minimum donation required to participate in NKU Founders' Day?
Gifts of all sizes are encouraged and will automatically enter you to win a number of prizes throughout the day.*
*No donation required to enter. Register by mailing us your information that includes your name, address and phone number, and indicate that you wish to be entered into the Founders' Day giveaways. Please mail to Northern Kentucky University, Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving, 5320 Campus Drive, AC 239, Highland Heights, KY 41099. Must be received by March 14 to be entered.
