Questions and Answers

Below you will find answers to many common questions about Giving Tuesday.

Why should I participate?

Here at NKU, we’re celebrating Giving Tuesday the Norse Way.  We hope our fellow Norse all across the country will join us by making a gift and sharing their own unique message.  Your support helps our students access higher education, complete their educational goals no matter the challenges and become engaged citizens within our community.  It only takes a few minutes to make a difference!

I would like to give to a specific area, but don't know what to select.

If you are unsure of the name of the scholarship or program you wish to support, please contact Amy Wylie, Senior Director of Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving at (859) 572-6910 or arbinoa1@nku.edu.

Is my gift tax-deductible?

Yes. All philanthropic contributions to NKU are tax-deductible as allowed by law.

Will I receive a receipt for my contribution?

Yes. We will send you a receipt for your contribution shortly after you make your gift.

What if I want to give to another designation?

If you want to give to a designation that is not listed, under departments please choose Fund for Excellence. Under designations, please select Other. You will then be prompted to type in the designation you wish to donate to. If you have questions about your gift, please reach out to Amy Wylie, Senior Director of Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving at (859) 572-6910 or arbinoa1@nku.edu.

Do I have to make a donation to participate?

While we hope you make a donation to support your favorite department or program on campus, it is not required for participation.  To take part in the celebration in another way, share your I LOVE NKU selfie on your social media accounts and use #NKUGivingTuesday in the post.

Do I need to change my privacy settings?

In order for your post to show up on our social media feed on the NKU Giving Tuesday page, you will need to mark your profile settings “public” on all platforms.

What if I don’t have a Twitter/Facebook/LinkedIn, etc.?

Not a Twitter user?  No problem!  We want you to use all your social media accounts to share our message, but we do not expect you to create a brand new account solely for this purpose.  Share on the platforms where you are most active and comfortable.
